TESTIMONIALS

The amazing Jessica Sansone is a seasoned Pilates instructor who truly understands the individual needs of her clients, especially those with injuries. She has had a profound impact on me since I met her in April 2012 and has truly transformed my body. I have had a herniated disk in my lower back (L-4 / L-5) for six years and was petrified to start an exercise regime but was encouraged by many doctors to try Pilates. Jessica has increased the strength and flexibility of the muscles in my abdomen and back in particular, drastically reducing my back pain. With a back injury, it is critical to have a highly skilled, compassionate, and patient instructor who can cater to your needs and Jessica, without a doubt, is one of the very best you will meet. I would be more than happy to speak with anyone about my experience and how much I admire Jessica and what she has done for me.

I had tried Pilates before but it didn’t stick. I was hooked after my first session with Jessica. She is very attuned to my specific lower back issues and tailors each session to how my body is feeling that week. I walk out feeling taller, stronger and insanely happy.

Jessica is my ideal Pilates instructor. Her sessions are lively, well paced, and eclectic. She’s a keen observer, able to spot where I’m tight or off balance. She makes Pilates easy to understand, finding just the right imagery to help me engage or release muscles. Her latest was, “imagine you’re carrying a library book under your arm.” Jessica’s also an expert in recovery from injuries. Because of her own experience, she’s patient, careful and empathetic. When I hurt my neck and elbow, I never felt I had to miss a session.  Jessica’s an outstanding teacher — experienced, generous and fun!

Jessica was great - she helped me get toned after the birth of my daughter - Literally nothing else worked. She gave me the support I needed and was an excellent resource. I still use her techniques years later.

I started working with Jessica to strengthen my abs and ease back pain after pregnancy, and have found her to be invaluable. Her sessions strike the perfect balance of humor, knowledge and effective work. She is completely present, picking up cues frommy body and mood, making necessary adjustments all while keeping the lesson challenging. I’m now into my second pregnancy with it’s own set of struggles, but I look forward to the relief I get at our weekly prenatal sessions. I always leave feeling more connected to my body and more aware of it’s strength than before.

Jessica is knowledgeable, perceptive, and adaptable — a great teacher. In my case, her flexible approach has helped me work around bike-related injuries to my arms. As I approach 50, I only wish I had started Pilates 20 years ago rather than last year!

I’ve been seeing Jessica for Pilates for the last two years- after my lower back went out as a result of bike riding- causing spasms and cramps. Aside from walking in NYC, I loathe having a daily exercise regime, so when I say that I always look forward to my sessions with Jessica, this is meaningful! She focuses on whatever distress I feel, and seeks to understand the source of it, which I’ve learned can be ‘referred’ from somewhere else in an out-of-balanced body. If I could, I’d see Jessica more often, but since I can’t, she gives me exercises to practice in between sessions. The clearest result of doing Pilates with Jessica, in addition to living with far less discomfort, is that I am so much more attentive to my body as a whole functioning unit. Walking up the subway stairs, I’ve incorporated core attentiveness, for example, which- for a person of 67 years- keeps me strong, makesme feel more in control.
